Closing event | 12 October | Lille

The last 3 years, the project partners have developed and implemented recruitment methods and vocational training programs for low-skilled people.

On the 12th October, the partners organize a final conference where they present their findings on working with the target group. At the same time, the partners will also introduce you to some innovative learning technologies such as VR, smart voice assistant… which help improving the learning experiences.

You can join us for one of the following options:

1. the online webinar from 09.00-10.00 (in UK time) or 10.00-11.00 (in BE and FR time)
2. the workshops and demo sessions with learning technologies at Hotel L'Hermitage Gantois, from 12.00h to 18.00h.

  • How to recruit low-skilled people? And how to motivate them for a job in the industry?
  • What opportunities offer innovative learning technologies such as virtual reality and the "smart voice assistant"?
  • Which knowledge and skills do trainers and mentors need to work with low-skilled people?
  • Whar are the benefits of a holistic approach when recruiting and training people for jobs in industry?

Partners present: Tineke Codron (VDAB - Belgium), Allan Baillie (Kent County Council - UK) and Matthieu Guary (Sud Concept - France).

During the webinar, participants will be able to adress questions to the panel group.

13.00-13.30 | Welcome and introduction to the workshops

13.30-14.30 | Two interactive workshops (simultaneous)

Session 1: "We have bought a digital solution. Now we have to find a training problem."
Are innovative learning technologies always the best option for training? Based on their experiences during the project, the partners comment on the do's and don'ts of implementing some innovative learning technologies such as Virtual Reality and intelligent voice assistant.

Session 2: "The expert was once a beginner too."
What knowledge and skills do trainers and mentors need when working with low skilled people in the industry? The partners will explain the good practices and the challenges they encontered when setting up train-the-trainer programmes in industry.

Session 3: "Life was much easier when Apple and Blackberry were just fruit."
Which learning technology to choose for which training problem? The decision tool guides you through the analysis of your specific training context and needs. It gives you suggestions on which learning technology is best for you. The added value of the tool is therefore both in the journey and the destination.

Session 4: "It's always the little pieces that make the big picture."
Which "puzzle pieces" are important when putting up a holistic programme for the recruitment and training of low-skilled people? The partners will illustrate this question with use cases from their own region.
